My first blog. I am an outdoors person, who enjoys fishing, swimming, hunting, walking my 2 dogs, and spending time at my camp. Fishing is my main hobby as I am retired and have lots of free time. I have a 16' alum boat with a 9.8 hp motor. Would like to have a bigger motor but cant afford one right now. I enjoy fishing competitivly and belong to the NBSFA and Muskies Canada, St John River chapter. I like sharing fishing tales with others and reporting on my activities and experiences.
When spring arrives I like spending time at my camp, sitting around the fire and enjoying a couple of cool ones. My camp is only about 5 km from my house, but its a good spot and you can drive right to it with a truck. It was car accessable, but the heavy rains last year did a lot of damageto the road. I guess this will do for my introductory blog. Casey

Great job Casey. Glad you made it on. Look forward to getting on the Petit with you this summer to go after some bass.

ReplyDeleteHi casy. Yes i made it into my camp last weekend., had to walk a 1/2 mile or so .Still a couple feet of snow .Seen about 20 deer going in .nice to see.we stayed fri. and sat night.Had a few cold ones.seems like a good yr. for bunnys, about 6 running around the yard.As far as getting old??? split wood fri. ,had a hard time to walk sat."LOL" Never got a chance to check out my tree stand. Going to pull it down a build new this summer.got to make it larger .So,s i can stretch out."LOL"
ReplyDeleteI have had my camp 2 yrs and only stayed in it one night. This year I will get more overnights ,especially before the bugs get too bad. I built a tree stand last year but didnt use it. I usually put out a salt block and lots of deer visit it, and the odd moose. I split some soft wood on Tues and tilled my 2 gardens so I had a few aches and pains myself!!
ReplyDeleteFished again today in Turtle Creek. Caught 1 sucker,2 other boats had also caught suckers. The water was high and dirty and the wind was blowing like hell on Lake Petty. I think I will take a rest from fishing until next Fri when lakes open. Maybe the water will be lower and clearer!!
ReplyDeleteGoing to the camp again this weekend. got to get some painting done, inside and out.My buddy was there last weekend , and he said theres moose tracks in the driveway.[can only hope and pray].haven,t seen a moose there in at least 5 yr,s.,i,ll let ya know how things go.
ReplyDeleteHi Casey. Glad to see you have a blog started.
ReplyDeleteJamie and I were out looking for some Pickerel a couple of weeks ago and the water was much higher than I have ever seen it.
We will get back up there by the end of May. The water should be down a bit making the fishing much better.
Can't wait to get the float tubes out again.
