Went to Cassidy Lake on Thurs morn with a new internet fishing buddy. Peter and I arrived at the lake around 10am and it was very flat, and it was a cloudy, humid day. The fish started hitting almost immediatly when we got to the upper end of the lake. We must have caught and released 40 pickeral. What a blast!! They were hitting a J9 and J11 rapalas, silver and black. It was a good introduction for Peter as it was his first time there. It would be nice if all fishing trips produced such excellent results'
Went to the Saint John river on Fri morning. I guess you should never go fishing the day after a pickeral fest. We trolled and casted for about 6 hrs and managed to catch 1 bass and 1 gaspereau. The gaspereau hit a 10" Jake muskie lure and the 14" bass was caught on a jig with adouble tail, white, mister twister. I had a huge bass up to the boat and it got off just as we prepared to net it. Those big ones always get away!!!

Good day Casey. I didn`t realize you had a blogger account. I was out fishing with Jamie a few days ago and asked him if you had a blog. So here I am to say hello.
ReplyDeleteI used to fish Cassidy Lake. It was great when I had my boat but fishing it from a canoe isn`t my idea of fun.
I don`t know how many times I would get to the far end of the lake and have to walk my canoe out of there because of the wind.
The fishing though is pretty cool.
I took one of my fishing buddies in there one year, the day after the tournament and my buddy Roland caught a 26 incher as his first Pickerel ever.
It was two inches bigger than the winner the day before.
I laughed at him because when he saw the mouth he was about to go near it. It took him a few trips before he would handle a pickerel.
I caught a big splake in there the first time I fished Cassidy. I was completely surprised.
Congrats on having such a great day on Cassidy.
